Meet the Egyptian Mau
Grace and elegance are special traits of the Egyptian Mau. A possible descendent of the ancient Egyptian cat, the Mau is rare and is the only natural breed of spotted cat. When three cats from Cairo were brought to the United States in 1956, the American breed originated. Even Canadian Maus can claim these three cats as ancestors. To expand the gene pool, other Maus were recently brought to the United States.
Maus come in only four colors—silver, smoke, black, and bronze, with a shiny, medium-length coat. All the coat needs is a gentle stroking with a gloved hand.
Come on in and tell us about your Egyptian Mau!
