Meet the Showshoe Cat
Looking like they have been out playing in the snow, Showshoe cats are aptly named! Sometimes, they may have degrees of white on the face, chin, chest, and stomach.
Breeding of the "applehead" Siamese and blue or black bicolored American Shorthair produced the Snowshoe cat in the 1960s. This cat was bred to resemble the Victorian Siamese.
Snowshoes have a modified wedge-shaped head, medium, slightly rounded ears, and brilliant blue oval eyes. Overall, they are a medium-sized, well-balanced, pointed cat, with a long but not extreme body. Having all the traditional Siamese colors (with seal being the most popular), their coat is medium-short and lies close to the body.
Other animals in the household should be no problem either for those pets or for the Snowshoes. Because of their social nature, Snowshoes enjoy being around other animals. They are playful, athletic, and intelligent.
Healthwise, these cats may have kinked tails and/or crossed eyes but generally have no other health problems.
